Buying new clothes is an integral part of any celebration in my husband’s family and since India is home to a huge number of cultures and religions, there is almost always a festival around the corner. Back then, whenever I was asked to choose a dress, I ended up picking a shade of blue since it was my favorite color which symbolized the vast ocean. As beautiful as the other clothes might have been, my eyes always wandered off to where there was blue. Later I found out that the suggestions which we feed our mind with, influences our vision and decision to a great extent.

This cognizance got reinforced through many other experiences in my daily life.

Welcoming the rising Sun from the terrace is the first thing which I do every morning. Today, while I was immersed in enjoying the colorful clouds which patterned the eastern sky, the Sun showed up in the form of the number 3. To me, it just looked as the Om symbol. As a person who practices Yoga, Om, the cosmic sound has a deep meaning in my life. The very sight of the Sun in this form took me to a different plane of imagination. The bright inscription of Om perceived by my mind, designed my thought patterns and the words I uttered thereafter. This gave me the revelation that our habits affect our perception and our perception in turn influences our imagination and finally the conclusions.

If perceptions are influenced by the mental imprints of the seer, it is very much possible to see what we want by painting the right image in our mindscapes. Many a times, we limit ourselves from visualizing what we want to become in our lives. This restricts our expansion.

Now, where do we start to achieve what we want? The journey towards success begins from the right thoughts. These thoughts find expression through words. Words seek fulfillment through actions and when these actions are repeated, they become our habits and these habits decide who you are.

During our coaching sessions, I have seen many of my clients resisting to believe that they deserve to be happy and successful. Circumstances or previous experiences make them prisoners of self-pity and despair. These self-limiting thoughts when nurtured in the mindscape, manifest into their habits and distort their visions. With dedicated efforts, they eventually succeed in uprooting these limiting thoughts. The angst which ruled the mind vanishes forever. New seeds of higher aspirations are planted in the loftiest subconscious mind. It was amazing to see this transformation happening in just a couple of weeks.

In most of our cases, what we lack is the courage to do a self-introspection. We prefer to keep the Pandora’s box of our minds closed eternally since we don’t want to take the responsibility of the self.

The way a tiny seed of the banyan tree hides a giant tree within, the seed of suitable thoughts can throw us into a higher plane of success and delight.

If the universe has gifted us with the treasure trove of dreams, it has obviously left a map as well, asking us to unfurl and advance.

Life is too short to defer the dreams dear to you.

At the end, it is not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years.
